The evaluation included 13 vendors that sell proprietary technology for delivering promotional emails. Vendors were required to: 1) Serve a broad range of B2C industries (excluding primarily B2B vendors like ActiveCampaign or SugarCRM, or single-vertical vendors like Bluecore), 2) Support enterprise clients (at least 25% of client companies with 1,000+ employees), and 3) Have substantive business (at least $10 million in revenues for calendar year 2020). Vendors like iPost, Dotdigital, and Selligent were excluded due to having less than 25% enterprise focus.
A: Vendors are excluded from year to year based on inclusion criteria changes or failure to meet the evaluation requirements. In this report, vendors were excluded if they: primarily served B2B enterprises, focused on only one vertical, had limited emphasis (less than 25%) on enterprise clients with 1,000+ employees, or had limited sales/declining growth (less than $10 million in revenues for calendar year 2020). The report notes that nonparticipating vendors (like Acoustic) met inclusion criteria but declined to participate or contributed only partially to the evaluation.
