This Magic Quadrant includes 13 vendors. The market continues to mature with vendors expanding capabilities across CFM use cases. The market has seen over 20% growth with a value of $800 million in 2023, forecast to exceed $1.4 billion by 2027. First-generation vendors founded nearly 10 years ago have the most traction, but many are remodeling their technology or dealing with organizational disruptions. Innovative players are addressing market segments but some lack traction and have questionable long-term viability. Vendors from adjacent markets (observability, hybrid infrastructure management, provisioning and orchestration) are entering by combining CFM functionality with existing capabilities.
A: Vendors must meet specific inclusion criteria including: (1) Market Participation - providing GA capabilities, selling directly to customers, demonstrating active product roadmap and offering support in English; (2) Capabilities - supporting must-have and standard capabilities across at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud), addressing at least 4 of 6 use cases, and being marketed as a singular CFM offering; (3) Financial Performance - achieving either $10M in CFM revenue over past 12 months, or $3M with 40% YoY growth, plus managing at least $500M in customer cloud spend annually; (4) Customer Interest Indicator - ranking in top 20 of Gartner's CII for the CFM market. Vendors meeting capabilities criteria but not financial thresholds or CII are listed as Honorable Mentions rather than excluded entirely.
