This document was revised on 3 December 2025. The financial planning software market continues to evolve with the expansion of AI capabilities, deep data integration and connectivity, and collaboration through integrated business planning (IBP). Vendors are embedding generative AI (GenAI) and agentic AI alongside machine learning (ML) to redefine financial planning software by embedding intelligent automation into core workflows. Modern planning solutions rely on deep data integration practices with enhanced connectivity through certified connectors and open APIs. IBP continues to be a strategic priority, enabling organizations to align financial and operational plans across departments through specialized planning modules for workforce, supply chain, demand, capital, marketing and ESG.
A: A vendor's appearance in a Magic Quadrant one year and not the next does not necessarily indicate that we have changed our opinion of that vendor. It may be a reflection of a change in the market and, therefore, changed evaluation criteria, or of a change of focus by that vendor. Vendors are reviewed and adjusted based on inclusion criteria as markets change. Vendors may be dropped if they no longer meet inclusion criteria for factors such as Customer Interest Indicator, revenue thresholds, customer counts, geographic presence, or industry diversification requirements.
