The iPaaS market continues to experience rapid growth, with Gartner estimating that market revenue exceeded $9 billion in 2024 and forecasting it will exceed $17 billion by 2028. Key market trends include: (1) AI has changed expectations of iPaaS capabilities, with vendors adding GenAI features to ease integration development and new features to support enterprise AI initiatives like RAG, fine-tuning, and AI agent management; (2) Convergence of iPaaS with adjacent technologies - vendors are expanding beyond core integration to add API management, B2B/EDI, RPA, business process automation, and low-code application platform capabilities; (3) Different vendors target different integration personas (integration specialists, software developers, or citizen integrators); (4) iPaaS vendors are increasingly partnering with application vendors to provide embedded integration capabilities.
A: We review and adjust our inclusion criteria for Magic Quadrants as markets change. As a result of these adjustments, the mix of vendors in any Magic Quadrant may change over time. A vendor's appearance in a Magic Quadrant one year and not the next does not necessarily indicate that we have changed our opinion of that vendor. It may be a reflection of a change in the market and, therefore, changed evaluation criteria, or of a change of focus by that vendor.
