Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud IT Transformation Services
Vendors or products added in this year’s report may indicate a change in the market, change in evaluation criteria, or change of focus by the vendor.
Vendors or products dropped from one year to the next may indicate a change in the market, change in evaluation criteria, or change of focus by the vendor.
The PCITS market is maturing with significant disruption. There continue to be many acquisitions, including two members of last year's Magic Quadrant (Hanu by Insight and MediaAgility by Persistent) as larger providers seek additional cloud-native transformation capabilities and skills. Co-solutioning and contracting for business value grew from a reported 40% of deals last year to just over 50% in both categories this year. The field of potential participants has shown significant growth, requiring Gartner to add a second hyperscale certification related to data and analytics across the three major providers. Two vendors on last year's Magic Quadrant have since been acquired. The inclusion criteria were revised to reflect changes in the market, specifically adding data and analytics capability certifications.
A: Vendors are reviewed and adjusted for inclusion in Magic Quadrants as markets change. As a result of these adjustments, the mix of vendors in any Magic Quadrant may change over time. A vendor's appearance in a Magic Quadrant one year and not the next does not necessarily indicate that Gartner has changed its opinion of that vendor. It may be a reflection of a change in the market and, therefore, changed evaluation criteria, or of a change of focus by that vendor. The vendors added to this Magic Quadrant did not meet the inclusion criteria last year, but have for the current iteration. Vendors were dropped primarily because they did not meet the new data and analytics certification requirement that was added to the inclusion criteria for this year's evaluation.
