The SCP market was worth $7.4 billion in 2023 and is forecast by Gartner to reach $14.9 billion through 2027, resulting in a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.6% (in constant-currency terms). SCP capabilities grew in importance to many companies in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the market has continued to receive a lot of focus and investment. The trend toward one unified platform continues, but there is a shift toward more flexibility and choice when it comes to planning, so that organizations are not locked into using only the capabilities of a single technology provider. This is prompting vendors to open up their platforms by allowing organizations to develop and embed specific algorithms or source algorithms from third parties while also focusing on governance, flexibility and a strong user experience.
